Office Memorandum
Subject: 7th CPC pension Revision : regarding
A reference is invited to CPAO OM No. CPAO/IT & Tech./Revision (7th CPC)/19.Vol-III/2016-17/37 dt. 25/05/2017 regarding revision of pension under 7th CPC forwarding the prescribed format of SSA for pre-2016 cases to be issued by PAOs.
As per format various financial & non-financial details of the pensioners were required to be provided by the PAOs while revising the pension under 7th CPC such as basic pension, revised pension, last pay drawn, PAN No., Aadhaar No. etc. After issue of this OM various offices raised some doubts regarding essentiality of providing Aadhaar number and PAN number.
In view of the doubts raised, it is clarified that no field in the format is mandatory except those which are required to process the pension case.
Therefore, while it is advisable to provide Aadhaar number and PAN number of the Pensioners wherever available for better quality of database, no case for 7th CPC pension revisions should be delayed for the want of Aadhaar number and PAN number of the pensioners.
This issues with the approval of the competent authority.

My 6th cpc basic pay is 12630 ( BP 9830+2800GP). Another person’s basic pay is 12630 ( BP 10230+2400GP). now 7th CPC my pension is 16450 , and another person’s pension 16650. How can this be possible? How can he get more pension than me ? Please resolve this matter as soon as possible.

Sri C V Subramaniam’s version is perfectly right. That’s why CPAO has clarified and directed to process the revision cases without insisting for Adhar and PAN card particulars. The confusion started with the proforma prescribed for processing pension cases at this juncture. Inspite of all this, the process at the PAOs’ level is not yet finished, though the OM was released as long back as on 12th of May.
It is a matter of great appreciation that CPAO is pursuing the Depts to complete the revision of pension of pre 2016 pensioners by issuing several orders from time to time continuously. It is unfortunate that the Depts and subordinate offices are not accelerating their machinery to the expected range.
For revision per Se, why Aadhaar and Pan numbers. In any case disbursing authorities, viz. Banks have already initiated steps for Aadhaar and Pan to be linked with their accounts..
