DA Calculation Sheet: The DA for Central Government Employees was earlier calculated based on the consumer price index with the base year 2001. The Central Government replaced it with a new consumer price index with the base year 2016 to calculate the DA from September 2020.

If the AICPIN increases in the same pattern. The D.A. from 1.7.12 will be 6%.
When DA becomes in decimal and after decimal goes more than .50% then it should be calculated in next figure (i.e. 8.5% should be considered as 9% and not 8%).
Presently DA is 65% and should be merged 50% in the basic emoluments of employees and pensioners and remaining 15% should be given.
DA is an allowance given subject to price index increase. This amount should not be taken into tax calculation.

Average of 12 months AICPIN data – 115.76 * 100 / 115.76
March AICPIN 201. % of increase ~ 68.30
D.A. From will be 6%

Cabinet committee accept to declare 7% DA today
there is no news about announce of increase of DA @ 7%
It is not certain when the Govt will declare DA Jan 2012
govt will announce da @ 7% on 23th march 2012.
