DA Calculation Sheet

DA Calculation Sheet: The DA for Central Government Employees was earlier calculated based on the consumer price index with the base year 2001. The Central Government replaced it with a new consumer price index with the base year 2016 to calculate the DA from September 2020.

  1. it is hard to say that DA would be 7% because inflation rate is reducing now. I am not sure that DA would 7%. It will be 6% or 7%. Accurate figure will come in 1.02.2012 when inflation figure will come so wait for next month. And HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2012 to all.

  2. The AICPIN figure does not tally with the actual market price we face day to day and I think because of that the DA calculation not match with our expectation. Is it ?

  3. Sir, Government is calculating aicpin from whole sale price index, while consumers buy from retail markets. Thus this is an invalid da calculation. Government again charges IT on the da, which neutralizes the increased living expenses only partially, due to the above invalid da calculation

  4. Medical allowance for pensioners must be atleast Rs.1000/- p.m. as they have to spend sufficient amount of their pension on their medical bills.
We must follow the old procedure of merging 50% of D.A. in the basic pay/Pension.
    Thanx.

  5. DA will be 7% only. wef-01Jan2012.DA will not merge in basic pay.It is clarified in 6CPC report.Every time when DA cross 50%, all the allowances increases @25%.it is true. thanks

  6. Sir, Government is calculating aicpin from whole sale price index, while consumers buy from retail markets. Thus this is an invalid da calculation. Government again charges IT on the da, which neutralizes the increased living expenses only partially, due to the above invalid da calculation. Therefore, Govt. must exclude entire da from the preview of IT, for employees, pensioners etc. This is absolutely necessary for pensioners and I would strongly suggest that Senior citizens drawing pension up to say 50,000/- per month should be exempted from IT and similar enhanced ceiling limit should be extended to all senior citizens, as their health care costs are much larger than others. Senior citizens are honorable elders, who worked their life time for the country and Government can not afford to I tax them any further.

  7. Central govt.increased 25% allownces. But some STATES have no provision of such allownces. So there should be diffrent orders of minimum 5% D.A. for such states by central govt.& calculation base should be retail prices.

  8. THE DA MUST BE 8% DUE TO INCRESE IN PRICE INDEX AND OTHER AREA’S LIKE SITE COST / BUILDING MATERIAL COST /LABOUR COST ETC

  9. i think the statistical records are not quite satisfying.we expect more than 8 percent da from january .i think central govt will look in to this matter
