Addressing part (a) of the query raised by MP Shri Hasmukhbhai Somabhai Patel, the Finance Ministry revealed that a total of 25,756 retired Central Government subscribers meet the criteria to claim additional benefits under the newly structured Unified Pension Scheme.
These retirees represent the primary wave of former central employees eligible for top-up adjustments and assured payout benefits introduced under the UPS paradigm.
Status of UPS Pension Claims: Received vs. Processed
The official Ministry figures highlight steady progress in processing retiree claims. According to data compiled up to July 9, 2026:
