In the Government Order 1st read above, the Maternity Leave admissible to married women Government Servants was enhanced to 90 days which may be spread over from the pre-confinement rest to post-confinement recuperation at the option of the Government Employee. It was also ordered therein that the Maternity Leave will not be admissible to women Government Servants with more than three children. Further, in the Government Order 2nd read above, necessary amendments to Rule 101(a) of the Fundamental Rules were issued, based on the executive orders issued in the Government Order 1st read above. Based on the recommendation of the Tamil Nadu third pay commission and on par with Central Government Employees, orders were issued in the Government Order 3rd read above to the effect that a woman Government Servant with less than two surviving children be allowed Maternity Leave for a period of 90 days from the date of its commencement
In the Government Order first read above, the Government sanctioned an ad-hoc increase in the Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium with effect from 01.07.2010 at the rate of Rs.20/- per month in respect of those drawing revised Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium up to Rs.600/- per month and at the rate of Rs.40/- per month in respect of those drawing revised Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium of above Rs.600/- per month.
In the Government Order first read above, orders were issued sanctioning revised rate of Dearness Allowance to State Government employees as detailed below:-
2.The Government of India in its Office Memorandum second read above has now enhanced the Dearness Allowance to its
employees from 45% to 51% with effect from 1st January, 2011.
3.Following the orders issued by the Government of India, the Government sanction the revised rate of Dearness Allowance to the State Government employees as indicated below:-
4. The Government also direct that the above increase in Dearness Allowance shall be paid in cash with effect from 01.01.2011.
5. The payment of arrears of Dearness Allowance for the months of January and February, 2011 shall not be made before the
date of disbursement of salary of March, 2011. While working out the revised Dearness Allowance, fraction of a rupee shall be rounded off to next higher rupee if such fraction is 50 paise and above and shall be ignored if it is less than 50 paise.
6. The Government also direct that the revised Dearness Allowance sanctioned above, shall be admissible to full time employees who are at present getting Dearness Allowance and paid from contingencies at fixed monthly rates. The revised rates of Dearness Allowance sanctioned in this order shall not be admissible to part time employees.
7. The revised Dearness Allowance sanctioned in this order shall also apply to the teaching and non-teaching staff working in
aided educational institutions, employees under local bodies, employees governed by the University Grants Commission/All India Council for Technical Education scales of pay, the Teachers/Physical Directors/Librarians in Government and Aided Polytechnics and Special Diploma Institutions, Village Assistants in Revenue Department, Noon Meal Organisers, Child Welfare Organisers, Anganwadi Workers, Cooks, Helpers, Makhal Nala Paniyalar, Panchayat Assistants/Clerks in Village Panchayat under Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.
8.The expenditure shall be debited to the detailed head of account `03. Dearness Allowance' under the relevant sub-minor, submajor and major heads of account.
9.The Treasury Officers / Pay and Accounts Officers shall make payment of the revised Dearness Allowance when bills are
presented without waiting for the authorization from the Principal Accountant General (A&E) Tamil Nadu, Chennai-18
Tamil Nadu Revised Scales of Pay, 2009 – Revision of scale of pay of Teachers – Fixation of pay of Teachers in the Selection Grade / Special Grade – Clarification – Regarding.
The Government sanction a lumpsum Pongal Prize amount of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) to all pensioners including adhoc pensioners of all categories and family pensioners of Government including All India Service, Aided Educational Institutions and Local Bodies.
Government has decided to grant Adhoc Bonus equivalent to 30 days emoluments on a base of 30 days a month to all regular and temporary Government employees, employees of Local Bodies and Aided Educational Institutions including teachers on regular time scales of pay for the financial year 2009-2010.
Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Monday announced Pongal bonus for government employees and pensioners. It will cost the exchequer Rs. 277 crore.
According to an official release, Government servants in ‘C' and `D' Groups will get bonus equal to 30 days salary with an upper limit of Rs 3,000 and ‘A' and `B' category employees a special bonus of Rs. 1,000. Pensioners and family pensioners will get Rs. 500 as Pongal gift. Considering the long-pending demand of retired village officers, the Chief Minister has ordered Rs. 500 as Pongal gift from this year.
A special pay of Rs. 1,000 will be given to those who had worked for 240 days or more in a financial year and were getting a monthly pay, including those working full time, part time or on a consolidated pay, such as anganwadi workers and village assistants.
Moreover, teaching and non-teaching staff in government-aided educational institutions and those run by local bodies and those coming under UGC/AICTE /ICAR salary scales and All India Service Rules were also eligible for the bonus, the release said.
In the Government Order cited, among others, orders have been issued to grant special allowance of Rs.500/- per month to the Secondary Grade Teachers and other teaching posts in the grade of Secondary Grade Teacher / Head Masters of High Schools with effect from 01—08--2010.
