Shortage of IPS Officers

In order to increase the number of IPS officers, as per requirement and in the light of the recommendations of the Kamal Kumar Committee, the strength and composition of the State Cadres has been reviewed and the total cadre strength has been raised to 4730. The annual batch size of regular recruits has been increased to 150 from 130 earlier, from 2009 onwards

The details of facilities provided by the Government for the women personnel of Border Security Force are (i) Problems are attended to through personal interviews, Sainik Sammelan and time to time interactions, (ii) Detailment of Lady Medical Officer/Lady Ministerial staff as nodal officers to address their grievances (iii) grant of adequate leave and medical facilities with special care to pregnant women (iv) convenient posting, wherever feasible (v) In case of married women, generally husband and wife are posted at the same station in the Force, assignment of comparatively lighter duties while posted in the field units (vi) provision of barracks with attached toilets in Border Out Posts, etc.

Recharge Coupons for Mobile Phones to be Made Available at Railway Stations

Ministry of Railways has decided that the rechargeable coupons for mobile phones would be made available for the benefit of the passengers at the STD/PCO booths at Railway Stations. As per the decision, all Zonal Railways are being permitted to allow sale of recharge coupons from the existing STD/PCO booths at the Railway stations which opt for selling the recharge coupons on payment of the following additional license fee as per the category of the station

LIC Pension Fund is No. 1 NPS fund

LIC Pension Fund Ltd has emerged the number one from among the three entities managing Central Government New Pension Scheme (NPS) trust funds following the allocation of 35 per cent of the funds in 2010-11. "The allocation is done on the performance of the past year and ours was the highest due to which we have received the maximum allocation from the NPS trust," LIC Pension Fund's Chief Executive Officer, H Sadhak, said here today.

The Uttarakhand government today decided to fill nearly 12000 posts of class-III employees lying vacant at various departments besides recruiting 490 instructors in ITIs for starting market-driven courses.

Pension fund allocations up 38%

Medical facilities to retired railway employees – RELHS

The RELHS (Retired Employees Liberalised Health Scheme) for the retired railway employees for availing medical facilities may soon be started, assured A K Goyal, member of Railway Board, while meeting a delegation of the members of All India Retired Railwaymen's Federation (AIRRF) in New Delhi. This information was given by Kishan Singh, zonal president of AIRRF, while holding a meeting of retired employees in the city. The retired railwaymen had been demanding restoration of the scheme, which was closed on March 31, 2010.
