For instance, if your average monthly salary is Rs 50,000, the gratuity payable to you after 10 years of service would be Rs 290,000. However your employer factors in another term: 'uninterrupted service'. The term covers the service period of the employee including leaves or breaks, except periods notified as breaks in service by the employer.

In partial modification of this Departments OM of even number dated 24th December, 2008 the Grade Pay of Rs. 1900/- as mentioned in the fifth line of the said OM may be read as Rs. 1800/- instead of Rs. 1900/-.
Over 5.33 lakh government employees, including teachers in Kerala, would get revised pay scales from April next.
The Ninth Pay Revision Commission, headed by Justice R Rajendrababu which submitted its report to Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today, recommended a minimum rise of Rs 1,104 and a maximum of Rs 4,490.
“Jammu and Kashmir government Government has decided to pay 50 per cent of the arrears out of its own resource in a phased manner, the remaining 50 per cent arrears would be met out of the Central assistance sought for this purpose,” Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather said here.
In terms of Board's letter No.PC-VI/2009/1/RSRP/10 dated 30.03.2010, the Pharmacists (Entry Grade) in the pre-revised scale Rs.4500-7000 have been granted Grade Pay Rs.2800 in Pay Band-1 (Rs.5200-20200) w.e.f.01.01.2006. On completion of two years of regular service in the Grade Pay of Rs.2800, the Pharmacists (Entry Grade) in PB-1 (Rs.5200-20200) are eligible to be granted non-functional upgradation to the next higher Grade Pay of Rs.4200 in the Pay Band-2 (Rs.9300-34800).
Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said here on Saturday that the new wage structure for more than 5.5 lakh-odd government employees including teachers in the State would come into effect from April 1, 2011.
