DA Calculation Sheet: The DA for Central Government Employees was earlier calculated based on the consumer price index with the base year 2001. The Central Government replaced it with a new consumer price index with the base year 2016 to calculate the DA from September 2020.

For 8% DA, AICPI should be 217 for the month of June 2012, while it was 206 in May 2012. So the index needt to go up 11 points, which generally increases by maximum by 4 points.

It is high time that all organisations unitedly fight for realistic D.A. increase based retail sale price index for calculation of D.A. in future.
It seems that, the DA will be 7 per cent with effect from 01.07.2012.

Since all the allowances are taken for tax calculation, it is high time that Only Basic and subsequent DA’s may be kept as salary. Accordingly all the allowances may be merged. It will be easy for a common may to calculate tax. Simplified form of income tax is required. Example, One month basic pay as tax for more than 5 lakh gross and 1.5 times basic for more than 10 lakh gross. This way, we can get away from DA being taken for income tax calculation. Every Office, accounts department works half the time on this especially between Jan-Mar every year. Don’t use too IAS officers on this, only take some examples of developed countries like SPore.
Dear Mr. Nandanan Thambi,
I 100% share with your views. As rightly pointed out by Col. Lamba “PENSION IS A DEFERRED WAGE & ALL ALLOWANCE APPLICABLE TO SERVING Employees SHOULD BE GIVEN TO PENSIONER LIKE HRA TRANSPORT,CHILDREN,LTC EXTRA DEPENDING UPON BASIC PENSION OF PENSIONER. UNFORTUNATELY NO ONE LOOKS AFTER PENSIONERS WELFARE & PRESENT DAY SERVING FORGET THAT THEY TOO WILL RETIRE & FACE AGONY”
The Hon’ble P.M. Dr. Manmohan Singh look into this burning issue personally and render justice to Pensioners & Senior Citizen. I am confident that our Hon’ble PM concede these reasonable demands once our organization brought this issue to his personal notice. Who bell the cat?
What is happening to the 6th CPC recommendation of Central Govt. Employees and pensioners Health Insurance Scheme ? What is the fate of the pensioners who are not in Non CGHS Cities and rural areas? The sympethetic? govt is convinced that we can survive with Rs.300 medical Allowance? The cost of pesticides also gone high and we cannot afford to commit suicide with this R.300/- Some staff side leaders and the govt is playing politics and the scheme seems to have a natural death. Had it been linked with Hon’ble MPs this would have been implemented within hours. Our destiny is only to cry like this till we die.
