DA Calculation Sheet: The DA for Central Government Employees was earlier calculated based on the consumer price index with the base year 2001. The Central Government replaced it with a new consumer price index with the base year 2016 to calculate the DA from September 2020.

As per latest labour bureau inflation indications, it is expected that further DA w.e.f. 1.7.2023 is not below 4% i.e., 46% for CG employees and DR for central govt retirees.

4% DA from January 2023, whether it will be paid or not as the Corona cases are increasing very fast.
Cpi iw remaining static at 132.5 for Nov,2022 is a big joke while general elections are nearing ! While inflation as per RBI survey is above tolerable limit, the cost of living index does not have any effect on this, is imponderable. While inflation cannot be controlled,the CPI can be manipulated. This is the opinion of working class.

Yes, 4 percent DA /DR from January 2023 is almost confirmed now seeing the table of AICPIN for the month of October 2022.
EXCERPTED DA/DR FROM JANUARY 2023 WILL INCREASE BY 4% (38% FROM JULY 2022 +4% FROM JANUARY 2023) TOTAL DA/DR 38%+4% = 42% TO ALL CIVILIANS AND DEFENCE PERSONNELS FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FROM JANUARY 2023
This is too early to comment on the DA rising wef January 2023. But, 4 percent hike can be expected seeing the AICPIN of September 2022.
