All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of September, 2010 increased by 1 point and stood at 179 (one hundred and seventynine).
During September, 2010, the index recorded an increase of 6 points each in Darjeeling, Durgapur and Jalpaiguri centres, 5 points each in Siliguri and Delhi centres, 4 points each in Angul Talcher, Rajkot and Belgaum centres, 3 points in 12 centres, 2 points in 13 centres and 1 point in 24 centres. The index decreased by 3 points in Bhopal centre, 2 points in 4 centres and 1 point in 4 centres, while in the remaining 12 centres the index remained stationary.
A new course for government employees in the country was launched Thursday by the Indira Gandhi National Open University ( IGNOU) and the training division of department of personnel and training (DoPT), an official said.
The new programme is called 'Distance and E-Learning Programme for Government Employees' (DELPGE) for which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between IGNOU and the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and the DoPT.
India Post has ventured into the scheme for Sale of branded Gold Coins of 99.99% purity. The scheme was launched in October 2008 in about 100 Post Offices spread across Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu and Gujarat Postal circles. India Post sells the 24 carat coins produced by Valcambi, Switzerland in association with World Gold council, and its business Partner. Presently this scheme is available in 700 Post Offices across India. India Post is overwhelmed by the response received from the public. More than 518 kg of gold has been sold from the Post Offices. Post Offices sell gold coins of 0.5 gm, 1.0 gm, 5 gms, 8 gms and 20 gms denominations.
In continuation to this Department's OM No. 42/18/2010-P&PW(G) dated 29th June, 2010 sanctioning the Dearness Relief to those Central Government pensioners who are in receipt of provisional pension or pension in the pre-revised scales of 5th CPC, the President is pleased to grant the Dearness Relief to these Central Government pensioners as under :
(i) Those who are in receipt of provisional pension or pension in the pre revised scales of 5th CPC are entitled to Dearness Relief @ 103% w.e.f 1.7.2010.
(ii) The surviving CPF beneficiaries who have retired from service between the period 18.11.1960 to 31.12.1985 and are in receipt of ex-gratia @ Rs. 600/ p.m. w.e.f. 1.11.1997 under this Department's OM No. 45/52/97-P&PW(E) dated 16.12.1997 are entitled to Dearness Relief @ 103% w.e.f. 1.7.2010.

The undersigned is directed to say that on the basis of information received from all the Cadre Units, a draft Common Seniority List (Annexure-I) of Steno. Grade `D' of CSSS for SL 1995 to 2006 has been prepared in accordance with Regulation 3(3) -III-Grade `D', sub-paras (a) and (b) of the Central Secretariat Stenographers' Service (Preparation of Common Seniority Lists) Regulation 1971, as amended from time to time. The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) on Monday announced 20 per cent bonus and ex gratia for 69,621 employees for 2009-2010. The payment, comprising 8.33 per cent bonus and 11.67 per cent ex gratia, will be made in instalments, beginning Wednesday, Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veeraswami told reporters at the TNEB headquarters here. This will cause an additional expenditure of Rs.60.75 crore to the Board. For 9,600 contract labourers and 5,516 part time workers too, ex gratia of Rs.1,500 each will be distributed.

DA percentage has to be calculated based on All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (Base year 2001-100) value.
The Tamil Nadu government today announced 8.33 per cent bonus for its over one lakh strong transport staff.
This would cost the exchequer about Rs. 100 crore.
Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi made the announcement today, besides announcing 11.67 per cent incentive for 1.27 lakh employees of various transport corporations, a government release here said.
The undersigned is directed to refer this Department’s OM No.21012/01/2008-Estt.(AL) dated 16.6.2010 vide which payment of Risk Allowance was extended till 30.9.2010. Extension of Risk Allowance for a further period of three months beyond 30.9.2010 has been considered and it has been decided that Risk Allowance may be continued for a further period of three months upto 31.12.2010 or till such time Risk Insurance Scheme is implemented, whichever is earlier. All the Ministries / Departments are requested lo ensure implementation of Risk Insurance Scheme before 31.12.2010. No further extension will considered thereafter.
The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways for payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 77 days’ wages for the financial year 2009-2010 for all eligible non-gazetted Railway employees.
The financial implication of payment of 77 days’ PLB to Railway employees has been estimated to be Rs.1065.42 crore. The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of PLB to the eligible employees is Rs.3500/ p.m.
About 12.92 lakh non-gazetted Railway employees are likely to benefit from the decision.
This will be the highest PLB payment ever to be made by Railways. PLB is based on the productivity indices reflecting the performance of the Railways.
